Sam Hicks of Lake City, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Little Rock at the age of 54. He was born in Marianna, AR on December 3, 1964 the son of Samuel Wayne Hicks and Mary Louise “Hand” Hicks.

He was a carpenter by trade but mostly did painting inside and the outside. Sam enjoyed drawing, carving, and collecting rocks. He was also a very talented artist, good at welding, and loved and enjoyed being with family and friends.

Sam is survived by his father; Wayne Hicks Sr. and step mother; Rita of Wynne, AR, his mother; Mary Louise Hicks of Lake City, AR, one stepson; Dale Chastain of Lake City, AR, brothers; James Wayne and wife Lesa of Wynne, Randale of Wynne, Wayne Jr. and wife Mayla of Wynne, and Brandon of Lake City, sister; Betty Huggins and husband Ricky of Millington, TN., and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Vanndale Baptist Church with visitation prior to services from 1-2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Slocum Cemetery in Tilton, AR.
