He was born June 14, 1955 in Ashland, KY and grew up in Grayson, the son of the late Vincel and Ollie Porter Parsons. He graduated from High School at East Carter High in Grayson. He entered the U.S. Air Force and served in Germany and Korea, retiring from the Air Force with twenty-one years of service. He married Tong Yi in 1976 and they made their home in Ohio. He attended Western New England College where he studied computer information systems. He worked for Multi-Color Corporation, as service software engineer. They made their home in Henderson the past two years. He attended Love & Truth Church in Jackson.
Mr. Parsons is survived by his wife, Tong Yol Yi Parsons of Henderson; a son, Samuel Parsons (Kimberly) of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Amy Theresa Mullins (Shaun) of Henderson; two grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Simmons, June Parsons and Della Parsons all of Grayson, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ralph, Lonnie and Robert Parsons and a sister, Thelma McDavid.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Marcus Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
