He was a maintenance supervisor and electrician by trade, retiring from Beck Aluminum Alloy of Lebanon. Shorty was a member of the Marietta Boat Club, Susquehanna and Marietta Beneficial Associations, and American Legion Post 466 of Marietta and 197 of Bainbridge. He enjoyed singing Karaoke, Fords, Penn State Football, Nascar, old country music and front porch sittin'.
He is survived by his five children, Kurt Long, Michael Long (Diane), Jodi Fogel (Eric), Juli Williamson (Dave), Christopher Long (Amanda); two step-children, Kenneth Severt and Michelle Severt; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Ruth Ruth, Esther Zerphy, and Naomi McCurdy and numerous nieces and nephews. Shorty was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyrus Long, Jr., and Richard Long.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday morning, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Falmouth United Methodist Church, 180 Falmouth Rd., Bainbridge, PA 17502. A luncheon will be held at the church following the service. Interment will be private.
