Patsy (Evans) Harris, age 76 of Calhoun, left this earthly home to go be with her Lord on Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2019.

Patsy was born on July 18, 1942 in Summerville, GA to the late Robert Evans and Louise Morgan Evans. In addition to her parents, Patsy was also preceded in death by: her husband, Terrell Harris on October 15, 2012; a son, Richard Harris in 1988; grandchild, Abby Harris; and sister, Margaret Meeks.

Patsy attended Red Bud High School thru 10th grade, until she married Terrell. As a young mother, Patsy helped her husband, Terrell as they worked together. After raising their three children, Patsy obtained her GED and earned her degree as a secretary from Dalton State College. She went to work for Echota Cotton Mills, Aldon Mills, Cherokee Restaurant, Holiday Inn Restaurant, Shephard Restaurant, Ramada Inn Restaurant, and K-Mart. She also worked for a material store, where she made western shirts. She made the most beautiful western shirts, and even made the owner shirts. He couldn’t find his size shirt anywhere else, so he paid her per shirt plus any material she wanted. She made her children the most beautiful clothes for school. She worked so hard and wanted her children to have nice things. Later in her life, Patsy enrolled back in college where she earned her license in Real Estate. She sold for Brenda Brock at Century 21 Real Estate and was even number one seller for one year. The year of 1988 she was doing so well until her youngest son, Richard passed away. After his passing, she lost her heart and soul and was no longer able to work.

Survivors include: her daughter, Donna Parker and her husband Troy; son, John Harris and his wife Donna; grandchildren, Mandy Hunter and her husband Henry, Stefanie Gillette and her husband Matt, Jessica Schwartz and her husband Kevin, Hannah Turner, and Ben Harris; great-grandchildren, Evie Delp, Joanna Gillette, Mason, Morgan and McCoy Schwartz, Jazmine, Scarlett, Nicholas Hunter, Brooke, River, and Kallen; two brothers, Cicero Evans and his wife Betty and Paul Evans and his wife Cindy; two sisters, Linda and her husband Ronnie and Charlotte Colston and her husband Leon; and loving friend, Beth Roscher.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 9th at 4 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Burgner officiating.
