OWEN HARNEY
At his home in this city, on Wednesday afternoon, at about 2 l'clock, Mr. Owen Harney. The deceased had been in failing health for some years, and during the past year was most of the time confined to his house. He had reached the allotted period of more than three score and ten. He was born in Ireland, and came to this country in 1838, and to Mineral Pint in 1848, since which time he constantly resided here. He was a man of kindly disposition and was always straightforward in his dealings with his fellow men. In his death Mineral Point losess (sic) another old resident, and a wide circle of friends extend to his bereaved family sincere sympathy and condolence. The funeral will take place on Friday morning at half past ten o'clock,when the remains will be interred in the cemetery of St. Pauls Catholic church.

Research confirms John, James, and Owen Harney were the sons of Hugh Harney and Ellen (Naghten) of St. Peter's, Drum parish, Athlone, County Roscommon, Ireland.
