He was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Clyde, to Roy and Clara Iona (Walden) Perry.
Mr. Perry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Ann (Pence); his children, Holly (James) Vincent of Henderson, Kentucky, Steve (Carol) Perry of Powder Springs, Georgia, Eric (Jennifer) Perry and Chad (Melissa) Perry all of Sylvania; stepchildren, David (Patricia) Woessner of Peru, Indiana, Amy (Joe) Miller of Vickery and Wendy (Brian) Nitschke of Sandusky; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Eilene Perry.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Zimmerman Perry; his parents; sisters, Molly (John) Keith, Nancy (Edward) Drown and Linda Perry; and brothers, Robert (Jane) Perry, Jim (Margaret) Perry, Tom Perry and Howard Perry.
Mr. Perry served in the U.S. Army with the second infantry division stationed in Alaska and the 148th infantry of the Ohio National Guard.
He was a member of the Townsend Township Volunteer Fire Department, serving as its treasurer for 23 years.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde.
His funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, at First Presbyterian Church, 120 S. Park Ave., Fremont with Pastor Julie Kling officiating. Burial will take place in Parkhurst Cemetery with military honors provided by Clyde VFW and American Legion.
