Marguerite was the daughter of Luther May and Ella Knott Crum Douglas (who are buried at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery near Cyril, AL). She married George Washington Tyson in 1932 and moved to the Ararat community near Butler. She taught elementary school in the county for many years and loved her "chaps", many of whom were her nieces and nephews.
