Obituary for Jane Amos
Mrs. Jane Pankhurst Amos, age 75, of Gilmer, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Longview Hill Care Center in Longview. Jane was born in Gilmer on December 15, 1943 to the late Charles Pankhurst and Ruth Cox Pankhurst. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and wife. She was of the Baptist faith, and attended several area churches through the years. Jane enjoyed floral arranging for her home, tending her vegetable gardens, and canning what she harvested.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wilson Amos; a sister, Mary Shands; and nephew, Steve Shands.

She is survived by her son, Michael Christopher Pankhurst of Longview; sister, Ginger Furqueron of Henderson; brother, Jimmy Charles Pankhurst and wife Lynn of Florida, Don Spencer Pankhurst and wife Sally of Houston; niece, Gina Hughes; Donny Furqueron, and Keith Shands.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer, with Bro. Wayne McKay officiating. The family will receice friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County.
