She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and previously employed with Mountain Opportunity Center as a Coordinator. She was a member of McKinney Cove Baptist Church. Survivors include: her mother; Betty McKinney, two sons; Michael Brian Buchanan (Amy), , and Christopher James Buchanan (Emily Burnette), one grandson; Austin James Buchanan, one brother; Johnny Yelton, niece; Felecia Yelton, she was also guardian for Andrea Greene. She was preceded in death by: her father; James Yelton, and one brother; Joey Yelton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Todd Ayers and Don Ford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11:00AM at Green - Young Cemetery.
