Barry L. Peters November 20, 1932 - December 2, 2017

Manchester Twp. Barry L. Peters, 85, loving husband, father, and grandfather, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Normandie Ridge surrounded by his children. He was the caring husband of Jane (Fissel) Peters. Born November 20, 1932 in York, a son of the late Clarence R. and L. Regina (Zuch) Peters, he was retired from General Electric in Valley Forge, where he worked as a Finance Manager. He was a very active member of Saint John Episcopal Church. He also served as a Director for Central York School District and was a long time volunteer with York Meals on Wheels. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Peters is survived by three daughters, Julia M. Lupini, and her husband, Barry, of Jessup, Anne P. Strayer, and her husband, T.L., of York, and Sarah E. Reeder of York; a son, David A. Peters, and his wife, Lisa, of Elkridge, MD; a brother, Elwood L. Peters of Ithaca, NY; and sister in law, Dana Peters of Stevensville, MD. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph S. Peters, of Stevensville, MD. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Josh, Jordan, Jillian, Andrew, Jake, James, Grace, Max, Lilly, and Catie. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Saint John Episcopal Church, 140 North Beaver Street, with The Rev. Douglas G. Dailey, officiating. A reception with the family will immediately follow. Flag presentation will be conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
