She was the funniest person I've ever known. She is survived by her big sis Linda Beutel and lil bro James. She was mom to damn near everyone I know but specifically to Evelyn, Donna, Scott, myself and her new daughter-in-law Princess (Sara for short).

Mom was admitted to the ER Friday night after suffering shortness of breath, a dangerous but recurring condition she's struggled with for several years now. She was put on supplemental O2 this year, which was helping, and we were moving her in with me this summer. After growing up in Newport Beach I think she was excited to be a beach bunny again and definitely looking forward to the golf cart. She had the lifestyle down, just needed the sand.

She was calm and more comfortable after breathing treatment but unhappy the doctors wanted to keep her for observation for 3-5 days. Still, she was joking with the nurses and let me take animated pics of her as "Snoop Mommy Mom".

Saturday Evelyn spent hours with her after bringing her Kindle and feeding Lola. I spoke to mom Saturday night and she was feeling poorly. We made plans to visit her this morning after church. Ev and I privately agreed she'd likely be there 5 days.

Mom showed us. She wasn't even there 1 more day.

We've agreed to tissue donation and are making arrangements. We never had a service for my father because mom was never ready to say goodbye. I respected that but see it differently.

We will have a service, honoring her and their shared life, but we will never say goodbye.

Later Skater.
