On January 21, 2022, after 92 years of loving and being loved, Geraldine Wells Smith peacefully finished her work on earth. Services honoring this warm and generous lady will be held Sunday, January 23rd at Sparta Baptist Church – visitation 1PM – services 2PM. Brian Hill and Dawn Brake are officiating.

Her love for family was apparent to all who knew her. Babies, flowers, and cooking for people always brought a smile to her beautiful face. Artistic in her own way, a passionate gardener and cook, she loved sharing her baked goods and flowers with family, friends and the Sparta community.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wells, great granddaughter Sadie Brett Boyer, brothers W.G. and Ray Rabun and second husband, Dan Smith.

Dennie, as she was affectionately called by grandchildren, other family and friends, is survived by her son Mike Wells (Hilda), Dianne Chamblee (Michael), and Kenneth Wells (Sally), grandchildren, Michelle Story (Gilbert), Kelly Muller (Sammy), Marc Chamblee (Lisa), Heather Chamblee, Dawn Brake, and Ellen Boyer (Bo); 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, also survived by a sister, Joyce Green, Tampa, FL and a brother Gene Rabun, Gibson, GA.
