Allen was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Herman and Leathel Morrison Koch.

Allen moved to Mendota in 1946 after serving in the Rainbow Division in southern France and Germany during WWII.

He met and married LaVerna F. Taylor in Mendota. Allen lived and worked in Mendota from 1946 to 1970. While there he owned Al's Place and worked for the Firebaugh Canal Co. for many years.

Lavern, his wife preceded him in death on July 2, 1980.

He is survived by his daughter, Joetta Koch; two sons, Allen and Larry Koch; granddaughters Rainey Lewis and her husband Jack, Nicole Koch and Amber Koch; great-grand-children Katherine and Patrick Lewis.

He is also survived by his brother Jack Koch of St. Louis, Missouri and nephew Jim Koch.

Also surviving is his long time companion, Georgia Dayton.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19, 2007, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Catholic Charities.
