Janice Evelyn (Marshall) Hughes, 85 year old of Seminole, Ok, passed away from this life on June 2, 2019 at Seminole Care and Rehabilitation Center. Janice was born January 2, 1934 to Marvin Jack Marshall and Dola Elzora Christine (Miles) Marshall in Seminole, Ok.

Janice was raised in Seminole, Ok and graduated from Seminole High School in 1952. She married James August Hughes in November 26, 1951 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Bakersfield, California and later returned to Seminole, Ok.

Janice was a Homemaker and a stay at home mom. She enjoyed baking, sewing, playing her piano, reading her Bible, reading books, meeting new people, taking care of all of her loved ones and countless others. She also loved to gather for Family Thanksgiving, 4th of July and family Bingo.

Janice is survived by the 2 grandchildren she helped raise, Michael (Rachael) Johnson of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Angie (Ryan) Ward of Edmond, Oklahoma, one son Jim (Rita) Hughes of Florida and two daughters Cindy Scott of Seminole, Oklahoma and Lisa Fry of Seminole, Oklahoma. Two daughters-in-law Diane Hughes of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kathy Hughes of Medicine Park, Oklahoma. One brother James Marshall of Seminole, Oklahoma and one sister Debbie (Leroy) Mitchell of Seminole, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews and a Host of great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Dola Marshall, husband James, daughter Cheryl, son Ken, brother and sister in law Harold and Marty Marshall, sister in law Betty Marshall, Nephews Terry and Jerry Marshall, grandson Tommy Hughes and great niece Taylor Noelle Lofton.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday June 6, 2019 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Ok. Burial immediately after service at Little Cemetery in Little, Ok. Mark Marshall (Nephew) will officiate the service.
