Obituary for Lundy Coleman
Lundy Coleman, age 93, passed away on January 5, 2021. He was born on January 19, 1927 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late David and Cora Coleman. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dorothy of 65 years. He is survived by his children, Marylynn Sanders, Richard Justice, Sandra Harris, David (Monica) Coleman; grandchildren, Jason (Peggy) Harris, Samantha (Eric) Parrish, Angela Ostrom, Jonathan Ostrom, Alexandra Coleman; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Bryce, Kaitlin, Ava, Anna, Amber, Andrea, Hunter, and Aarionna; brother, Paul (Jan) Coleman; sister, Ova Thacker. Lundy was a faithful member and pastor of the Columbus Primitive Baptist Church since December of 1963. Serving God, his congregation, family and friends was his life. He was a proud WWII Veteran, employee of North American Aviation, and school bus driver. He enjoyed spending his time gardening, golfing, watching Buckeye basketball, and being around family and friends. The Coleman Family appreciates the care, kindness, and friendship of the New Albany Assisted Living staff and the Summit Hospice staff. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 3-5pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Columbus, OH 43230, where a PRIVATE service will follow promptly at 5pm with Pastor Robbie Worrix officiating. Interment at Mifflin Cemetery on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10am. Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks and will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending.
