Jennifer Marie Smith Baker departed this earthly realm on June 2, 2019 to be with her Lord in Heaven. Jennifer was born to Ellen Byers Smith and Archie Smith on October 22, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas.

In her teens, Jennifer's love of animals led her to participate in many horse-riding activities and livestock shows. Later in life that same love of animals led her to provide a good home for multiple cats and Yorkshire terriers. Her two Yorkies, Abbey and Sassy will miss her loving care. Jennifer graduated from Hope High School in 1964 and attended Southern Arkansas University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education. She went on to teach for 4 to 5 years in local elementary schools. Later she worked full time on the family farm.

In Jennifer's younger years, she regularly glorified God and blessed fellow church members in various local churches by playing the piano and singing gospel music. Today she is praising, and glorifying God face to face.

She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Baker; one sister, Elizabeth Dugal (Dwayne); one son, Mark Baker (Dorothy); one daughter, Diane Miller; three granddaughters, Hannah, Rachel and Aliza Miller; two grandsons, Matt Baker (LeAnn) and Alex Baker; four great grandchildren, Bryce, Adelyn, Laila and K J; a special family member Bertha Miller, and numerous relatives of the Byers and Baker families.

Chapel service will be 11:00am Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Herndon-Fuqua with Interment to follow in Shover Springs Cemetery. Bro. Ed Phillips and Bro. Larry Byers officiating
