Chris McGuire was born July 15, 1954 in Creston to Lila Alberta (Beardsley) and Arnim Matthew McGuire. He graduated from East Union High School in 1972. While living in Thayer 26 years, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a lineman, meat cutter at Jimmy Dean in Osceola, then moving to Oklahoma for a short time where he worked in the oil fields, before moving to Osceola, where he resided for the last 19 years. Chris was an avid bowler, active in fast pitch softball, played pool, fooseball and cards.
Chris McGuire is survived by one son: Todd (wife Christina) Cook of Van Wert; one daughter: Lorena Jones of Murray; three brothers: Tom McGuire of Ellston; Gary (wife Terri) McGuire of Rockport, Mo.; Larry McGuire of Thayer; one sister: Carol McGuire of Thayer; two nephews: Jason and Matthew McGuire; one niece Jessica McGuire and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
