Glen Orlando Allen, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mr. Allen was born November 30, 1933 in Naylor. He graduated from Doniphan High School. He moved to St. Louis County for 20 years prior to moving to Poplar Bluff for more than 45 years. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, including teaching Sunday School, leading youth programs, and singing in the choir. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather/great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

On May 31, 1953, he married Lillian V. Dunlap, who preceded him in death in 2005.

He is survived by his four children, Gregory Allen of West Plains, Glenda Abbott and Rhonda Johnson, both of Grayslake, Illinois, and Craig (Merry) Allen of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three sisters, Sylvia Childs, Wilma Allen, Geraldine Luechtefeld; two brothers, Vernon Allen, Marvin Allen; six grandchildren, Sonya Turner, Michael Allen, Kristen and Timothy Abbott, Faith and Devon Allen; three great-grandchildren, Trey and Cole Turner, Brynna Allen; and special friend, Fay Biggs.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Sylvia Allen, six brothers, Clifford Allen, Norman Allen, Arthur Allen, Dale Allen, Roy Allen and Ray Allen, three sisters, Audrey Ortega, Mary Dunlap and Sharon Davidson, and one grandchild, Nicolette Allen.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Interment will be at Kinsey Cemetery in Harviell.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff.
