Lois Mae (Ober) Silvis, 81, of Clymer, died Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Indiana. Born April 15, 1938, near Kenwood, she was the daughter of the late Solomon W. Ober and Rosie Mae (Lovelace) Ober. She was married to the late Howard Clyde Silvis for over 49 years.

Lois enjoyed painting and leather carving. She exhibited in local and international leather shows, and won numerous awards for her leather carving. She was a member of the Pitt Pounders Leather Guild for many years.

She was involved in the church ministry with bible school, and taught Sunday school class. Lois also spent time playing guitar and singing at nursing homes.

In times past, Lois and her husband Howard loved to travel, go camping, partake in western square dancing, and listen to blue grass music. In more recent years, she spent time in bible study and colored pencil art.

Lois is survived by the following children: Victoria Black and her husband John, Gillette, WY; Nolan Blystone and wife Karen, Penn Run; Stephen Blystone, Clymer, and step daughter, Laura Ward and husband James, Indiana. She will also be missed by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A brief graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 4th at 1:00 PM at the McDowell Cemetery
