Loving aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, John and Antonia Nemec; one brother, William (Billy) Nemec; one sister, Lilly Fine; and one sister-in-law, Sondra Nemec

Ann’s greatest joys in life were her husband, Newell, and their children, grand-children and great grand-children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Grandma) and great-grandmother (Mimi). Ann enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, walking, reading, playing games like Wahoo and Farkle with family and friends, organic gardening, and RV camping. She loved helping others, working on projects, and was a wonderful example of love, faith, and caring to her family and others. She had a servant’s heart, which was demonstrated by volunteering at St Mary’s Catholic Church, where she and Newell were past Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion during Mass and visited the homebound, where they helped with the votive candles for many years and helped in the church parish office when needed. Ann was a longtime member of the St Anne’s society for whom she served as secretary for many years and where she sewed Baptismal bibs, baked many delicious items for bake sales through the years, and ironed altar linens for decades. Ann shared her talents with friends and family, teaching many of them to cook, bake, sew and crochet. Loving, caring, sharing, giving, serving others are action words that best describe Ann. She dearly loved her family and friends, and was still telling others, “God bless you” the final day of her earthly life. The ripple effect of Ann’s positive influence and loving spirit was infectious and when caught by others spread far and wide. Ann always stated that she and Dad were not born in Fredericksburg, but they moved here as fast as they could. She deeply loved her home, the community, and the friendships that she had with others.

The body will lie in state in the chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home, Fredericksburg until 8:45 A.M. on Wednesday, May 1st with Mass of Resurrection at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Nolan officiating.
