Thomas Gipson Gross, 97, a retired business owner, died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center-Leake.
Visitation is 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Wilcox Funeral Home. Services are 11:00 am Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Stephen Evans and Bro. Clay Winstead officiating. Burial will follow in New Providence Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gross was a native of Leake County and a member of Carthage First Baptist Church. He was co-owner of Sanders & Gross (Cotton) Gin Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Gross served the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include: a son, Dr. Thomas G. Gross II (Jennifer) of Carthage; a daughter, Dr. Dinah Jordan (John) of Biloxi; grandchildren, Dr. Laurin Gross McCombs (Clay) of Carthage, Dr. Whitney Gross Mays (Andrew) of Jackson, Dr. Brittany Gross Winstead (Clay) of Carthage, and Jay Jordan of Biloxi; 5 great-grandchildren; his devoted caregiver, JoAnn Leflore.
Pallbearers are: Bro. Clay Winstead, Clay McCombs, Johnny Gross, George Harkins, Dr. Andrew Mays, and Jay Jordan.
Honorary pallbearer: James Milton Harkins.
