Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 3 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Munro passed away on Friday evening, May 31, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.
Surviving is his wife Sheila of Ogdensburg; a daughter, Minka Thibert & her husband Dan of Ogdensburg; a brother, Donald Munro & his wife Marilyn “Siss” of Virginia; grandchildren, Matthew & Brianne Thibert of Ogdensburg; along with nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was predeceased by two sons, Stephen & Mark Munro; a sister, Joan Munro Ortelle; and his first wife, Ann.
Bob was born on July 29, 1933 in Poughkeepsie NY, a son of Leonard & Mildred Munro. He graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and enter the US Navy from 1952 to 1956. He later married Ann Breen who predeceased him, and he again found love and was remarried to Sheila Montpetit on December 4, 2015.
He was employed by New York State as a correctional officer at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville, NY for 33 years. He retired in 1990. Bob was a former member of the American Legion, VFW and volunteer fireman in Poughkeepsie. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
