James “Jim” Pepper passed away peacefully on May 17, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82.

Beloved husband of the late Ida Breaux Pepper.

Loving father of Elizabeth Schexnayder (Ronald), Judy Richoux (Jeff), and Rene Mollere (Danny).

Paw Paw Buddy of Jason (Melissa), Evan (Lindy), Jamie (the late Ross), Matthew (Brandi), Danielle (Chris) and Mason. Great-grandfather of Landon, Rylee, Lanah, Reese, Lucy, Madalyn, Murphy, Emelia and one expectant great-grandchild.

Son of the late Lula Boullion Pepper and Louis Pepper.

Brother of the late Joyce Barrios and John Milton Pepper.

He is also survived by his favorite feline friend, Floyd along with many loving nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends.

James was born in Lafayette, LA and was a longtime resident of Gretna, LA.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard.

Mr. Pep enjoyed fishing and was a talented handyman who could build or fix most anything. A truly selfless man, he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. While his passing is sorrowful, his life and legacy will be celebrated.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff of West Jefferson Medical Center I.C.U. for their loving care and compassion.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 9am to 1:30pm. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel.

Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park.
