He was the only son of Maurice and Elizabeth (Wood) Richardson. He began high school at Frederick Sasscer High School and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1967. He worked for 50 years in the auto parts business as a counter person with local Ford dealers, retiring from Lanham Ford in 2016 with 16 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joyce Lorraine Richardson; 2 daughters, Megan Koch (David) and Kate McMillan (Sean); and 6 grandchildren, Mazzy, Miley, London, Saylor, Tyler and Nolan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Snyder.
