Daniel “Danny” Ray Swafford, 72, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019.
Born in Macon County he was the son of Mildred Shope Swafford and the late Ray Swafford. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, then received an Associate Degree from Southwestern Community College. Danny was a member of First Baptist Church where he was formerly a deacon and member of the Adult 2 Sunday School Class. He worked for many years at Belden and was a member of Gideons International. He enjoyed fishing and collecting guns.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, David Wayne Swafford and wife Linda of Franklin.
A Funeral Service was held at 3 pm, Sunday, June 2 at First Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Brown, Rev. Jack Jarrett, and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.
Burial was made in Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were: David Cheek, Jim Shope, Clark Shope, Henry Wall, John Hook, Alan Vinson, and Rick Rogers.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Jay Sanders, Bud Shope, David Snyder, Mac Harrison, Wayne English, Mike Breedlove, and Joe Breedlove.
