He was born in Lawrence Kansas on September 20, 1957, to Jimmy Logan Cannon and Oleta Francis (Hendrickson) Maples. Jimmy was a self-employed Home Builder, who loved loved woodworking and working on cars.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, and a half-brother, Monte Maples. He is survived by his wife Pamela (Maggard) Cannon, two daughters: Kelsey Cannon and Marvadawn Cannon, and two sons: Jason Maggard and Larry Cannon. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
