Craig was born Feb. 13, 1957, in Madelia, Minn., to Waldemar and Marion (Altenburg) Breitbarth. He attended grade school in South Branch and graduated from Truman High School in 1975. Craig met Sheila Pittman, when they were teenagers and they fell in love and were married Sept. 16, 1978, in Fairmont. Craig helped farm with his father and brother in the Truman area. He also worked for 20 years at Westin Automotive in St. James. Craig was currently employed by HitchDoc Mfg. in Jackson for the last 10 years and worked there until the day of his passing. Craig attended Antrim Church and then joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. He was a member of the Monday Bowling League in Fairmont for over 25 years. Craig liked to hunt, birdwatch, and loved spending time outdoors. His greatest treasures were his wife, children and grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. Craig is survived by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Sheila; daughter, Katie Breitbarth of Mankato; sons, Jared (Jenna) Breitbarth of Fairmont, and Shane (Nichole) Breitbarth of Truman; grandchildren, Cadence, Dane and Deegan Breitbarth and Mila Smokrovich; brother, Randy (Sarah) Breitbarth of Truman; sister, Ardis (Stan) Ahlman of Big Fork, Minn.; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Craig was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Truman Pool and St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Truman.
