Robert Ricketts "Bob" Batson Jr was born on May 9, 1948 in Fort Riley, Geary County, Kansas, the son of Robert Ricketts "Bob" Batson Sr (1923–2019) and Jean (Miller) Batson (1919–1984).

He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and was a property manager for Batson Development Company. He was known for always helping others, and he was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee Vols and of the Atlanta Braves.

Living in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, Bob Jr was 70 years old when he passed away at home on May 31, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his mother Jean Batson and by his brother Mark Batson, while survivors included his father, two Batson sons and a Batson daughter-in-law, a Mann son, a married sister, the McKenzie mother of his sons and two grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Service were held on June 9th at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville.
