Arthur Parrish, 85, of DeRidder, LA, entered into rest on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in DeRidder, LA. Arthur, the son of Travis Parrish and Minnie (Powell) Parrish was born on August 16, 1933, in Jasper, TX.
Visitation will begin Friday, May 31, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin Saturday, June 01, 2019, from 11:00 AM until Funeral Service begins at 1:00 PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with Rev. Arlen Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Townsend Cemetery, Broaddus, TX.
Arthur loved westerns especially John Wayne and Audie Murphy, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching Charles Stanley’s preaching on T.V., was always in church, and having family devotions. He loved to go out and eat, he was a veteran of the Korean War. “He could fix anything”.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Maureen Parrish of DeRidder, LA.; three sons, Thomas Parrish and wife Boneta of Groves, TX, Patrick Parrish and wife Rachel of Liberty Hill, TX, Arthur N. Parrish of DeRidder, LA, two daughters, Teresa Shifflett of Leesville, LA, Freda Strouse and husband Greg of Brookland, TX; one brother, Charlie Joe Parrish and wife Bettye of Vidor, TX; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his former wives, Ruby Parrish, Betty Parrish; and grandson, Justin Parrish.
