Richard “Dickie” Lee Bowers, aged 69, passed away February 18, 2019, in Washington, DC. Dickie was born December 15, 1949 in Martinsburg, WV the son of Richard Lyle Bowers and Hilda Jane Keedy.
Dickie’s family moved to Herndon, VA at an early age where he attended and graduated from Herndon High School. He loved sports and played football, basketball and baseball in High School. He was a self- employed truck driver and later a purchasing agent for Superior Paving Corp. Since his retirement in 2008 he has enjoyed his family life even while coping with Parkinson’s Disease. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Coors Light and loved Motown music.

He is survived and greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Cheryl Riley Bowers; sons Jeffery Robert (Trina) Bowers, James “Jay” Stewart (Tamara) Riley; Poppy to Tatiana Hill, Jaden and Arden Riley, and Abbie and Riley Bowers; sister Sandee (Lad) Dawson; brother-in law James “Jamie” (Sheila) Riley; nieces Cami (Randy) Boyd and Staci (Johnny) Stearns ; nephew Robert (Jen) Bowers; sisters-in law Janice M. Simms and Elizabeth Stewart.

He was preceded in death by both parents; brother Robert Bowers and sister-in law Amanda “Chrissy” Simms.
