Carol Ann Wakefield
SEPTEMBER 17, 1962 ~ MAY 30, 2019 (AGE 56)
On May 30, 2019, Carol Ann Wakefield returned to her Heavenly Father and ended her earthly probation with a heart full of love for everyone she encountered. When the hospice doctor first met her, she greeted him with a sincere "I love you" to which he replied "in all my years of practicing medicine, I've never had any patient greet me in that manner."
Carol was born September 17, 1962 to Leland A. Wakefield and Eris P. Wakefield. Carol was known for her loving nature. Everyone who met her received greetings of, "I love you" and "You're pretty" or "You're handsome." She also often commented, "You have pretty eyes." The world would be better, indeed, if we treated others as kindly as Carol did everyone.
As the oldest sibling Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister Janet. She is also survived by her brothers David and Paul, their wives, five nieces, four nephews, lots of great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Carol was severely mentally and physically challenged from birth, and endured every trial valiantly. Although her body was broken, her spirit was bright. She was definitely an avid hugger. Everyone who left her presence did so with a smile.
As her end neared, she expressed her love to everyone present, seen and unseen. One of the last things she said was "I'm so tired. I love you, mom" as she reached out her hand toward the foot of her bed. Her death is a testament that life does continue beyond this mortal existence.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 3:30 pm on 12 June 2019 at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah, where Carol will be interred next to her parents.
