She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Gertrude Lummen.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Gary Snyder; children, Scott and Donna Snyder, Bradley and Nancy Snyder, Jill and Chris Longstreet; grandchildren, Kelsey and Jason VanderLaan, Aubrey Longstreet, Aaron Longstreet, Katherine Snyder, Alexandra Snyder, Quinn Snyder and Owen Snyder; great grandson Harrison Paul VanderLaan; brother Fred and Barb Lummen; brothers and sisters in law, Mike and Pat Snyder, Harv and Joan Snyder; nieces and a nephew; special friend Joyce and Larry Hoezee.
Karen volunteered and also served on the board at Bible for Missions, helped with Meals on Wheels and worked as a nurse at several nursing homes in the area.
Karen’s family would like to thank the staff at American House and Spectrum Health Hospice for their excellent care and love that they showed towards Karen.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 3, at 7:00 pm at Fair Haven Church, 2900 Baldwin, Hudsonville, 49426 with Pastor Greg VanderMeer officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible for Missions or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
