Mr. James Hal Altom, 78, of Lexington, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Andy White officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery.

Pallbearers who will serve are Darrell Ellis, Joey Roberts, Richard Raines, Tommy Altom, Terry Altom, Gary Altom, and Terry Mitchell.

Mr. Altom was born June 15, 1940 in Wildersville, Tennessee to the late James Altom and Faustina Parker Altom. He was a retired foreman from the Milan Arsenal and a member of County Line Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Ray Altom.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Altom, two daughters, Melissa Gordon (Jeff) and Jan White (Andy) both of Lexington, and one brother, Tommy Altom of Clarksburg. He also leaves four grandchildren, Malarey Gordon, Josh Ferguson, Jillian Davis (Craig), Jonna White, two great-grandchildren, Ty Ferguson and Jemma Davis.
