She was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Serra) Misenti and had lived in Meriden for most of her life. She graduated in 1958 from St. Rose of Lima School. In 1966, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA and worked for the Acton, Massachusetts School System as a 2nd grade teacher for many years. She returned to Connecticut by joining the Aetna Insurance Company in their Pension Department and retired after 20 years as a senior pension specialist. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Josephine Otlowski and Lucille Durost; a sister-in-law Joanne Staszewski and her six nephews, Chris, Todd, Stanley, Scot, Peter and Michael.
