James Robert (Bobby) Hammock, Sr., 85, of Rocky Mount, passed away May 30, 2019. Bobby was born January 17, 1934 in Charlottesville, but has lived most of his life in Franklin County. Preceding him in death were his parents, Leffie Hammock and Evelyn Norvelle Hammock: a brother, L.H. Hammock. He is survived by his wife, Janet Smith Hammock; two sons, Rob Hammock and Todd Hammock; a granddaughter. he was a charter member of the Franklin County Rescue Squad, and past Master of Snow Creek Masonic Lodge. He served eight years in the U.S. Army as a Staff SGT. He retired from Dupont and was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Entombment will be in Mountain View Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum.
