Linda Jean Mickelson, the daughter of Kenneth and Elvera (Elm) Mickelson, was born June 17, 1945 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School. On June 28, 1962, Linda was united in marriage to Bill Hanson. The couple made their home and raised their family in Fort Dodge. She worked as an assistant for a hearing-impaired class thru the AEA and in Bill’s L.B. office and co-owner of Hanson & Hanson, Inc. Linda became a Mary Kay consultant in 2007 and was the top producer of her unit. She organized a project to provide skin care products for patients of the Unity Point Cancer Center and provided $4255 in 2019 while fighting her own battle with cancer. She was an avid reader, PEO member and a frequent volunteer at the Unity Point Gift Shop. Linda was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Bill and Linda liked to travel and visited several countries in Europe, Safari in Africa, loved Hawaii, and took the entire family on Inside Passage to Alaska. Since 2006, they’ve spent part of the winter in Las Vegas to spend time with Dave and his family.

Survivors include her husband of almost 57 years, Bill Hanson; her twin daughters Lisa (Pete) Sharp of Olathe, KS, Lori (Todd) Whitaker of Tonganoxie, KS, son Dave (Anne) of Las Vegas; grandchildren Nolan, Ryan and Samantha and great grandson Brody, her sisters Marlys (Marv) Reiland, Mary (Elwyn) Bruhl, sister-in-law Pat Mickelson, and many nieces and nephews.
