William "Billy" Neiland Mayfield, age 79 of Douglasville, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019. He was born on June 10, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia, son of the late William Thomas Mayfield and the late Margaret Donaldson Mayfield. He retired as chief dispatcher with WT Mayfield & Sons Trucking with over 40 years of service. After retirement, he worked as a counter sales clerk with Mid-South Suppy Company for over ten years. Billy was a charter member of Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville where he served as a deacon.
Billy is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Marjorie "Margie" Doyle Mayfield; daughters: Pamela Concannon and Patricia Mayfield; son: Buddy Mayfield; grandchildren: Todd Elliott, Hannah Holdbrooks, Neil Concannon, Dustin Bradshaw, Peyton Mayfield; great grandchildren: Aliegha Elliott and Austin Bradshaw; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Donna Mayfield; sister: Barbara Jean Lee; brother: Mark Mayfield.
Per his wishes, he was cremated and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 02, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville.
