Died at Kansas City Hospice House. She was born May 28, 1962, in Topeka, Kan., the adopted daughter of Al and Rosalie (Bush) Jones, they preceded her in death.

Jana was married to Kansas Supreme Court Justice Robert E. Davis on August 22, 1997, he survives at the home. She is also survived by her son, Brian Jones; her stepchildren, Edward Davis, Rachal Evans, Patrick Davis and Carolyn Davis; her natural mother and stepfather, Jaye and Karl McIntyre; two brothers, Harry D. Wood and Tyler Wood.

In 1984 Jana graduated from Washburn University 13th in a class of 2700 with a B.A. in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude; in 1989 she received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Kansas Medical Center; in 1997 Certificate of Fellowship from the American College of Physicians. She was certificated by the National Board of Internal Medicine in September 1992 and the American Board of Internal Medicine in November 2006. She was appointed to the Kansas Board of Healing Arts by Governor Bill Graves. Jana was a diagnostic specialist for Kansas and Missouri, and was a Medical Consultant for Lansing Correctional Facility and for the Leavenworth Federal Prison. She was in private practice in Leavenworth from 1992 to 2003.

Jana had received many awards, Magna Cum Laude; Graduate in Chemistry in 1984; Masters Studies in Piano Performance 1982 to 1984; Flute Performance-Undergraduate Studies 1979 to 1984; Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society 1982 to present.

She was a member of The Pain and Policy Management Committee, Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine of the University of Kansas Medical Center and Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine of the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Sciences. She belonged to many organizations, American Society of Internal Medicine; American College of Physicians; American Medical Society; American Academy of Family Physicians; American Medical Womens’ Association; P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Leavenworth Lions Club.

Jana was a published author of several books and professional articles. She was an active member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church where she played the flute for Sunday Masses.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, September 23, 2007, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, 4701 10th Ave Leavenworth, KS. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 pm. Friends may call after 2 pm Sunday. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am Monday, September 24, 2007, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, 900 Ida, Lansing, KS with Rev. Michael Stubbs as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
