George Eugene Norton, Sr., age 83, of Conyers, died Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was born September 29. 1935, in Milstead, to the late Tobe N. Norton, Sr. and Eva Lane Norton. Gene was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Binion; children, Gene, Samantha, and Ricky Norton; one younger brother; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Gene retired from Lithonia Lighting after 40 years, where he worked as the foreman over operations. His family was very important to him. Gene was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a very strong selfless man who care for all those around him. At the age of 18, he stepped up to care for his father and younger sibling after the passing of his mother. Gene has a heart of gold and a generous giving soul. He will forever be missed. A private memorial service will be held for immediate family only following his cremation.
