Gerald D. Evans, 82, of Harmony, W.Va., went Home to be with the Lord May 26, 2019 at the Camden-Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, W.Va. after a long illness.

He was born March 23, 1937 in Jingo, West Virginia a son of the late Rex and Lillie Jane Anderson Evans. Gerald worked in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years and was retired from Pennzoil. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church and was a US Air Force veteran, Airman 1st Class. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed working in the hayfield, mowing his yard, watching westerns and hunting.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Delores J. Harper Evans; five children: sons, Tim (Joyce) Evans, Gary (Kelly) Evans, and Greg Evans; daughters, Theresa Brisendine and Sandy (Jerry) Hamrick; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Shaver and Janet Cox; and one brother, Rex Evans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Brady and Bill Evans; and three sisters, Justine Ellis and two infants.

Service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, W.Va. with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Harmony.
