She graduated from Hendrick Hudson H.S. in Buchanan, N.Y. Entering the Mt. Vernon Hospital of Nursing she graduated “First in her Class” with honors as a Registered Nurse in 1939 followed by becoming a stewardess with American Airlines. On one of her flight routes she met Air Force Lieutenant Jules Aime Prevost of St Johnsbury. They were married June 9, 1943, in Rocky Ridge, Ohio. In 1946 while working in China they purchased their property at Joe’s Pond where they built their retirement home that they permanently occupied in 1968.
She is survived by her four children; her daughter-in-law; ; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Col. Jules A. Prevost in July 2007 at the age of 91; a son Matthew D. Prevost in April of 2010 at the age of 53; infant son Edouard; an older sister Guinevere Ferris in April of 2014 at the age of 98; a younger brother Adrian Duryea who died at the age of 9; and an Uncle Frank whom she was named after died in France during WWI at the Battle of Belleau Woods.
Interment in the Danville Green Cemetery at the family plot.
