Mary Boyanton, 79, of Devon Drive, a retired postal worker, died Monday of heart failure at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Services are 11 a.m. today at Baldwin-Lee Chapel with burial in Lakewood Cemetery. A Hazlehurst native, Mrs. Boyanton was a longtime Jackson resident. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include: sons, Billy James Boyanton of Pearl, Oris Alvin Boyanton of Grapevine, Texas, Henry Laval Boyanton of Jackson and Perry R. Boyanton of Brandon; daughters, Elizabeth Holman of Jackson and Sherry Matthews of Coppell, Texas; brother, Jesse Phillips of Sand Springs, Okla.; sisters, Louise Lucas and Annie Ruth Reeves, both of Magnolia; and nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
