Kathleen Peery Hansen passed away on December 7, 2016 at the age of 76 due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease.

She was born March 17, 1940 to William E. and Isabell Crandall Peery. She was the third of four children. She was raised in Spanish Fork, Utah and attended schools in Spanish Fork, graduating from Spanish Fork High School in 1958. During high school, she enjoyed pep team, drama, and "dating lots of boys." She went on to attend BYU and Utah State University.

On August 15, 1963, she married Brent D. Hansen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were together for fifty-two years. Over the years, they enjoyed going out to dinner with friends, attending BYU football and basketball games, and visiting their son and his family, who lived out of state. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family. She enjoyed numerous family trips to Disneyland, Disney World, and Hawaii. She enjoyed going to lunch and shopping with her daughters and watching her son play basketball. She loved her grandchildren. She spent hours watching her grandchildren as they performed in school programs, sporting events, or anything in which they were involved.

Kathleen made everyone feel welcome. Her house was party-central for all the kids' parties and dances. She also loved to entertain. Friends from around the country would come and stay at the "Hansen Hotel" for weeks at a time. As part of their stay, they could look forward to food from Glades Drive-In, a big icy Coke, an in-depth "chat" as she cross-stitched, and a late night filled with laughter.

Kathleen had many church callings. She served as the ward Primary President, in the Stake Relief Society Presidency, and the Stake Young Women's Presidency. She was also the "3rd Ward Party Chairman." She was known for providing numerous decorations for ward parties and making fabulous posters to advertise these parties.

She is survived by her children Brent (Michelle) Hansen, Natalie Hansen, Cynthia (Jeff) Loreen, and Alece (Gary) Nelson, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings Dick Peery, Joan Forsling, and Ted Peery.
The family would like to thank the Legacy House and Maple Creek Hospice staffs for their loving care of our mom for the past year.

A visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Spanish Fork West Stake Center located at 400 N. 650 West from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation one hour prior to the services at the same location. Funeral arrangements will be provided by Crandall Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
