Nancy Ann Hess, 78, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 3:50 PM on Monday, May 27, 2019 in Columbia, MO.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at the James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Monroe City, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Nancy's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday at the James O'Donnell Life Celebration Home in Monroe City, MO.
Nancy was born December 15, 1940, in Omaha, NE to Charles and Mildred Brown King.
In 2000 she married Richard Hess and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2013.
Survivors include 2 children, John K. "Jack" Park of Hannibal, MO and Ben Park (Deborah) of Harrisburg, MO, 2 grandchildren, Thomas Webster (Aubrey) and Lauren Smith and 1 great grandson, Joseph Webster. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Ronald King and Chuck King.
Nancy was a Physical Education Teacher at Mark Twain Elementary School in Hannibal for over 15 years. She later enjoyed being a farm wife and helping on the family farm for many years.
Nancy enjoyed gardening, with her zucchini and tomatoes always being a specialty. A talented artist, Nancy liked to paint china. Fishing, reading and feeding the birds at the farm were also activities that Nancy enjoyed. Musically inclined Nancy enjoyed a wide variety of music and even played the banjo and guitar. A wonderful cook, Nancy made the best fried chicken and chicken and noodles. Nancy also enjoyed eating and socializing at the Monroe City Nutrition Center and she was a member of the Lone Wolf No Club of Hannibal. Most of all Nancy simply enjoyed the time she shared with her family and friends.
Nancy was a Christian by faith.
Pallbearers will be John K. "Jack" Park, John Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Thomas Webster, Lauren Smith, Bernard Ogle, Rodney Brumbaugh and Steve Vessell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Taylor, Ron Dinler and Karen Hunt.
