Matthew Justin Lawson, age 39, of Frenchburg, KY passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 in Mt. Sterling, KY. He was born December 29, 1979 in Morehead, KY, a son of Gary Lawson and Nancy Little Ratliff. He served in the United States Army and worked for Allen Construction. Surviving is his fiancee Lashay Becraft, his mother Nancy Little Ratliff, two sons Matthew Dylan Lawson and Gary Tayton Lawson all of Frencbhurg, KY. Two sisters, Wayna & Matt Heizer of Frenchburg, KY; Ashley Ratliff of Owingsville, KY. One brother Cameron Lawson of Philadelphia, PA. Special cousin and best friend, Kila Little Stevens of Frenchburg, KY. Host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gary Lawson.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Bro. Alan Ratliff officiating. Burial in Back Cemetery, Wellington, KY,(with Military Honors conducted by Morgan County DAV Chapter #132). Visitation will be 6:00pm, Wednesday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY, with Randy Halsey Funeral Director. Honorary pallbearers, Matt Heizer, Johnny Little, Terry Helton and Daniel Hollon. Active pallbearers,Robbie Ferrell, Travis Cornett, Shane Stevens, Johnathan Little, Tommy Little and Timmy Little.
