During his career, Mooch was employed at A-1 Building and Marion Lumber. He served many years as an Auxiliary Police Office for the Marion County Sheriff's Department.
Mooch loved any and all music. He was in a band called “Rebels” where he played the guitar and bass. He loved and worshipped his family however he was never short of words to giving them advice how to live along with leading their lives. As his family stated, “in Mooch’s world he was always right” and he never let them go without their “daily chewing”. Mooch was an inspiration and devoted man to all his family and friends. He gave with all his heart and soul.
Those who precede him in death are his parents, Walter “Ray” Floyd, Sr. and Maxine Floyd; brother, Walter “Poke” Floyd, Jr.; nephew, Shane Foshee and father-in-law, Paul Alder.
The loved ones left to cherish his memories are his precious wife of 37 years, Tammy Floyd; son, Colby (Chelsea) Whitzell; granddaughter, Rylee “Rew” Whitzell; grandmother, Dorothy Griffith; sisters, Deb Foshee, Lorri (Bo) Burnett; Robyn (Jeff) Whitzell; nieces, Jade (Kain) McCown, Tonya and Tiffany Foshee; nephews, John Adam Floyd and Drew (Molly) Munsey; sisters-in-laws, Paula (George) Tharp and Kim (Coby) Munsey; mother-in-law, Helen Alder along with several great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm CDT in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home.
Mooch will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery following the service.
