Geneva Aaron Sharp, 69, formerly of Mayodan, left this earthly life Sunday, May 26, 2019, at UNC Health Care of Eden.

A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.

The family received friends following the service Wednesday, and other times, at the home of Darrin and Tessa Joyce, 1065 Walking Horse Lane, Sandy Ridge.

Geneva was born in Rockingham County on October 30, 1949, to the late Roger Gordon Sharp and Margaret Leona “Peggy” Carter Sharp. In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Price.

She was a graduate of Mayodan High School, a past employee of Washington Mills, Inc/Tultex, and of the Baptist faith. Geneva treasured time with the grandchildren and she loved working with her flowers.

Survivors include her sons Darrin Lee Joyce (Tessa), of Sandy Ridge, William Christopher Gann (Shanon), of Florida, and Thomas Jacques Gann, of Greensboro; grandchildren Carter and Hallie Joyce; brothers Mike Sharp (Barbara), of Mayodan and David Sharp, of Oregon and nephew Jason Moore and niece Donna Riner.

Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
