Columbus, GA- Ms. Phyllis Doree Holmes, 55, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Central Missionary Baptist Church 576 Central Church Road Ellerslie, GA. with Pastor Joseph McKelton officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel at Rose Hill LLC 2919 Hamilton Road Columbus, GA. Visitation will be today, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ms. Holmes was born July 13, 1963 in Cataula, GA. to the late Fred Holmes, SR., and the late Mamie Lee McGhee. She joined Central Baptist Church at an early age. Phyllis attended Carver High School for a few years. She has always been the light of her family's lives. When they would visit her, she would always have a smile on her face. Phyllis leaves to cherish her precious memories, two sisters, Precious Ann (William) Green and Virginia Street; one brother, Fred (Patricia) Holmes, Jr.; five nieces, 5 nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. A special thanks to her caregivers at Magnolia Manor.
