Daniel E. Fox, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant Mills passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the The Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

Daniel was Born May 29, 1942 in Danville. He was the son of the late Mary (Rake) Benfer and Daniel E. Fox ST. and his wife Faye (Wertman) Fox.

He was the husband of Clarice "Kim" (Winey) Fox, who survives. Th couple were married for 30 years at the time of his passing.

In addition to his wife, Dan is survived by step-children and their spouses Shelbi and Brian VonNeida of Harrisburg and Dr. Thomas and Melanie Heckman of Arlington, VA; step-grandchildren Madison and Olivia VonNeida and Elena and Ethan Heckman; brothers and sister Gary Fox of Winston-Salem, NC, Kenneth Fox and wife Theresa of Jacksonville, NC, Donna Miller and husband Brinson of Lyons GA. Linda Longacre and husband Larry of Northumberland, Rebecca Fox of Northumberland, and Edward Fox and wife Mindy of New Berlin; sisters-in-law Janice Leitzel and husband David and Dolly Guyer and husband Jay; brother-in-law Guy Winey and wife Debbie; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Fox, in infancy.

Dan was a 1961 graduate of Northumberland High School and served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Kitty Hawk.

He worked at King's Construction and Thomas Ross Construction, and later at the Selinsgrove Center.

Dan was member of Grace Lutheran Church, Northumberland, and attended Neimond's Independent Church, Richfield. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m. at George P. Garman Funeral Home, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Mills. Full military honors will be accorded by Selinsgrove American legion Victory post No. 25 and Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6631 at the conclusion of the service at the funeral home. Officiating will be pastor Ron Berrus.

Memorials gifts may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PL, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family thanks the Manor at Penn Village Nursing staff at station R and the staff in the activity area for the loving care given to Dan during his stay.
