Walter L. Kiel, 87, of 2168 Hawthorne Ave., Two Rivers, died early Friday morning at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers. The Rev. Richard Bidwell will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Kiel was born Aug. 13, 1892, at Mishicot, son of the late Henry and Mary Bartels Kiel. He married Emma Wattawa Feb. 19, 1917, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He had been employed as a machinist with Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., retiring in 1957. Mrs. Kiel preceded him in death Nov. 23, 1976.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Marie Kiel and a sister, Mrs. Martha Vertz of Two Rivers; three grandchildren, William E. Kiel, Mrs. Karen Hynek and Mrs. Karla Staudinger, five great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Leona Kiel of Two Rivers and Mrs. Christine Schmitz of Manitowoc and nieces and nephews. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the time of service.
